﴿ إِذْ دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَىٰ دَاوُۥدَ فَفَزِعَ مِنْهُمْ ۖ قَالُوا۟ لَا تَخَفْ ۖ خَصْمَانِ بَغَىٰ بَعْضُنَا عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍۢ فَٱحْكُم بَيْنَنَا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلَا تُشْطِطْ وَٱهْدِنَآ إِلَىٰ سَوَآءِ ٱلصِّرَٰطِ ﴾

“As they came upon David, and he shrank back in fear from them, they said: “Fear not! [We are but] two litigants. One of us has wronged the other: so judge thou between us with justice, and deviate not from what is right, and show [both of] us the way to rectitude.”

وهل جاءك -أيها الرسول- خبر المتخاصِمَين اللذَين تسوَّرا على داود في مكان عبادته، فارتاع من دخولهما عليه؟ قالوا له: لا تَخَفْ، فنحن خصمان ظلم أحدنا الآخر، فاقض بيننا بالعدل، ولا تَجُرْ علينا في الحكم، وأرشِدنا إلى سواء السبيل.
