﴿ قُلْ أَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا۟ ٱلرَّسُولَ ۖ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْهِ مَا حُمِّلَ وَعَلَيْكُم مَّا حُمِّلْتُمْ ۖ وَإِن تُطِيعُوهُ تَهْتَدُوا۟ ۚ وَمَا عَلَى ٱلرَّسُولِ إِلَّا ٱلْبَلَٰغُ ٱلْمُبِينُ ﴾

“Say: “Pay heed unto God, and pay heed unto the Apostle.” And if you turn away [from the Apostle, know that] he will have to answer only for whatever he has been charged with, and you, for what you have been charged with; but if you pay heed unto him, you will be on the right way. Withal, the Apostle is not bound to do more than clearly deliver the message [entrust­ed to him].”

বলুন, ‘তোমরা আল্লাহ্‌র আনুগত্য কর এবং রাসূলের আনুগত্য কর।’ তারপর যদি তোমরা মুখ ফিরিয়ে নাও, তবে তার উপর অর্পিত দায়িত্বের জন্য তিনিই দায়ী এবং তোমাদের উপর অর্পিত দায়িত্বের জন্য তোমরাই দায়ী; আর তোমরা তার আনুগত্য করলে সৎপথ পাবে, মুলতঃ রাসূলের দায়িত্ব শুধু স্পষ্টভাবে পৌঁছে দেয়া।
