﴿ فَقَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا بَٰعِدْ بَيْنَ أَسْفَارِنَا وَظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ فَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْ أَحَادِيثَ وَمَزَّقْنَٰهُمْ كُلَّ مُمَزَّقٍ ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَٰتٍۢ لِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٍۢ شَكُورٍۢ ﴾

“But now they would say, “Long has our Sus­tainer made the distance between our journey- stages!” - for they had sinned against themselves. And in the end We caused them to become [one of those] tales [of things long past], and scattered them in countless fragments. Herein, behold, there are messages indeed for all who are wholly patient in adversity and deeply grate­ful [to God].”

অতঃপর তারা বলল, “হে আমাদের রব! আমাদের সফরের মনযিলের ব্যবধান বাড়িয়ে দিন।' আর তারা নিজদের প্রতি যুলুম করেছিল। ফলে আমরা তাদেরকে বিষয়বস্তুতে পরিণত করলাম এবং তাদেরকে সম্পপূর্ণরূপে ছিন্ন-ভিন্ন করে দিলাম। নিশ্চয় এতে নিদর্শন রয়েছে, প্রত্যেক ধৈর্যশীল, কৃতজ্ঞ ব্যক্তির জন্য।
