﴿ وَإِذَا مَسَّ ٱلنَّاسَ ضُرٌّۭ دَعَوْا۟ رَبَّهُم مُّنِيبِينَ إِلَيْهِ ثُمَّ إِذَآ أَذَاقَهُم مِّنْهُ رَحْمَةً إِذَا فَرِيقٌۭ مِّنْهُم بِرَبِّهِمْ يُشْرِكُونَ ﴾

“NOW [thus it is:] when affliction befalls men, they cry out unto their Sustainer, turning unto Him [for help]; but as soon as He lets them taste of His grace, lo! some of them [begin to] ascribe to other powers a share in their Sustainer’s divinity,”

মানুষকে যখন দুঃখ-দৈন্য স্পর্শ করে, তখন ওরা বিশুদ্ধ-চিত্তে ওদের প্রতিপালককে ডাকে; অতঃপর তিনি যখন ওদের প্রতি অনুগ্রহ করেন, তখন ওদের একদল ওদের প্রতিপালকের সাথে অংশী স্থাপন করে থাকে।
