﴿ لَقَدْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَٰقَ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ وَأَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَيْهِمْ رُسُلًۭا ۖ كُلَّمَا جَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌۢ بِمَا لَا تَهْوَىٰٓ أَنفُسُهُمْ فَرِيقًۭا كَذَّبُوا۟ وَفَرِيقًۭا يَقْتُلُونَ ﴾

“INDEED, We accepted a solemn pledge from the children of Israel, and We sent apostles unto them; [but] every time an apostle came unto them with anything that was not to their liking, [they rebelled:] to some of them they gave the lie, while others they would slay,”

বনী ইস্রাঈলের নিকট হতে অঙ্গীকার গ্রহণ করেছিলাম ও তাদের নিকট বহু রসূল প্রেরণ করেছিলাম। যখনই কোন রসূল তাদের নিকট এমন কিছু নিয়ে আগমন করে, যা তাদের মনঃপূত নয়, তখনই তারা (তাদের) কতককে মিথ্যাবাদী বলে ও কতককে হত্যা করে।
