﴿ نُسَارِعُ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ ۚ بَل لَّا يَشْعُرُونَ ﴾

“We [but want to] make them vie with one another in doing [what they consider] good works? Nay, but they do not perceive [their error]!”

We are hastening to provide them with good things? No. Rather they are not aware that this is a way of gradually drawing them into their punishment.
