Al-Ma'aarij • EN-AL-JALALAYN
﴿ خَٰشِعَةً أَبْصَٰرُهُمْ تَرْهَقُهُمْ ذِلَّةٌۭ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمُ ٱلَّذِى كَانُوا۟ يُوعَدُونَ ﴾
“with downcast eyes, with ignominy overwhelming them: that Day which they were promised again and…”
with their eyes humbled abject overcast by abasement shrouded in it. Such is the day which they are promised dhālika is the subject and what follows it is the predicate meaning the Day of Resurrection.
