﴿ قَالَ لَا تُؤَاخِذْنِى بِمَا نَسِيتُ وَلَا تُرْهِقْنِى مِنْ أَمْرِى عُسْرًۭا ﴾

“Said [Moses]: "Take-me not to task for my having forgotten [myself], and be not hard on me on account of what I have done!"”

He said, 'Do not take me to task on account of that which I forgot, to the end [of the verse]: an apology at the station of the self-reproaching soul.
