Aal-i-Imraan • EN-TAFSIR-AL-TUSTARI
﴿ قُلِ ٱللَّهُمَّ مَٰلِكَ ٱلْمُلْكِ تُؤْتِى ٱلْمُلْكَ مَن تَشَآءُ وَتَنزِعُ ٱلْمُلْكَ مِمَّن تَشَآءُ وَتُعِزُّ مَن تَشَآءُ وَتُذِلُّ مَن تَشَآءُ ۖ بِيَدِكَ ٱلْخَيْرُ ۖ إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ قَدِيرٌۭ ﴾
“SAY: "O God, Lord of all dominion! Thou grantest dominion unto whom Thou willest, and takest away dominion from whom Thou willest; and Thou exaltest whom Thou willest, and abasest whom Thou willest. In Thy hand is all good. Verily, Thou hast the power to will anything.”
Say: �O God! Master of the Kingdom, You give the kingdom to whom You will�That is, the [kingdom (mulk) of] gnosis, the profession of divine oneness (tawḥīd), the codes of law of Your religion of Islam, and a praiseworthy end. [All] this [depends on] God�s taking care of the servant, and not relinquishing him to [reliance on] himself.His words:
