﴿ ثُمَّ ٱجْتَبَٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ فَتَابَ عَلَيْهِ وَهَدَىٰ ﴾

“Thereafter, [however,) his Sustainer elected him [for His grace], and accepted his repentance, and bestowed His guidance upon him,”

(Then his Lord chose him) by means of repentance, (and relented towards him) He overlooked his sin, (and guided him) to repentance.
