An-Nisaa • EN-TAFSIR-IBN-ABBAS
﴿ وَمَن يَكْسِبْ خَطِيٓـَٔةً أَوْ إِثْمًۭا ثُمَّ يَرْمِ بِهِۦ بَرِيٓـًۭٔا فَقَدِ ٱحْتَمَلَ بُهْتَٰنًۭا وَإِثْمًۭا مُّبِينًۭا ﴾
“But he who commits a fault or a sin and then throws the blame therefore on an innocent person, burdens himself with the guilt of calumny and [yet another] flagrant sin.”
(And whoso commiteth a delinquency) a theft (or crime) and falsely swears by Allah, (then throweth (the blame)) the theft (thereof upon the innocent) Zayd Ibn Samin, (hath burdened himself) has sentenced himself (with falsehood) the punishment of a great falsehood (and a flagrant crime) and the punishment of a flagrant sin.
