﴿ وَمَا ظَلَمْنَٰهُمْ وَلَٰكِن كَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ﴾

“And it is not We who will be doing wrong unto them, but it is they who will have wronged them­selves.”

(We wronged them not) by punishing them, (but they it was who did the wrong) by adopting disbelief and idolatry.
