﴿ فَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْهِ أَنِ ٱصْنَعِ ٱلْفُلْكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَوَحْيِنَا فَإِذَا جَآءَ أَمْرُنَا وَفَارَ ٱلتَّنُّورُ ۙ فَٱسْلُكْ فِيهَا مِن كُلٍّۢ زَوْجَيْنِ ٱثْنَيْنِ وَأَهْلَكَ إِلَّا مَن سَبَقَ عَلَيْهِ ٱلْقَوْلُ مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَلَا تُخَٰطِبْنِى فِى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ ۖ إِنَّهُم مُّغْرَقُونَ ﴾

“Thereupon We inspired him thus: “Build, un­der Our eyes and according to Our inspiration, the ark [that shall save thee and those who follow thee]. And when Our judgment comes to pass, and waters gush forth in torrents over the face of the earth, place on board of this [ark] one pair of each [kind of animal] of either sex, as well as thy family - excepting those on whom sentence has already been passed; and do not appeal to Me [any more] in behalf of those who are bent on evildoing - for, behold, they are destined to be drowned!”

فَاسْلُکْ فِیْہَا مِنْ کُلٍّ زَوْجَیْنِ اثْنَیْنِ ”ہر قسم کے جاندار ‘ حیوانات وغیرہ میں سے ایک ایک نر اور ایک ایک مادہ کو بھی اس کشتی میں سوار کرلینا تاکہ ان کی نسل محفوظ رہ سکے۔وَاَہْلَکَ اِلَّا مَنْ سَبَقَ عَلَیْہِ الْقَوْلُ مِنْہُمْ ج ”اس استثناء میں آپ علیہ السلام کی بیوی اور ایک بیٹا شامل تھے ‘ جن کے بارے میں پہلے ہی ہلاکت کا فیصلہ ہوچکا تھا۔
